Ms. Krista Adams- 8th Grade Math, Algebra 1, Math Workshop
Ms. Krista Adams teaches 8th grade math & algebra, serves as the Mathematics Department Head, and coaches 8th grade girls' basketball. Ms Adams earned a Bachelor’s degree from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, and she completed her Master’s degree in Teacher Leadership and Administration from McKendree University in 2012. In her eighth year of teaching at Waterloo Junior High School, Ms. Adams coordinates the very popular "Dodging MS" Dodge Ball Tournament each year to raise money for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Ms. Deb Clinebell- 8th Grade Science
Mrs. Clinebell teaches eighth grade science and serves as the Science Department Chair for the junior high school. Mrs. Clinebell has been teaching junior high science for 27 years, holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois and a Master’s degree from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. She especially enjoys the opportunity to teach multiple generations of Waterloo families!
Ms. Carey Day- 8th Grade Language
This will be Mrs. Day's eighteenth year teaching with sixteen years teaching the junior high level. Waterloo Junior High has been her home for eight years now.
Following graduation from Gibault Catholic High School, she attended Belleville Area College for two years. She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from McKendree College and later completed her Masters in Education from SIUE. She is the proud mom of three awesome kids! Emma is now a fifth grader, Ellie cannot wait for second grade to begin and little Jack, 5, will enter Kindergarten. Where has the time gone? Outside of the school day, her time is spent watching intense games of soccer and softball or watching little gymnasts flip in the air. She may even be listening to an aspiring pianist practice in the playroom or a little boy fight off the dragons with his "swords".
Mrs. Brittany Imm- 8th Grade Science, 8th Grade History
Mrs. Imm is excited to teach 8th grade science and social studies at Waterloo Junior High. Prior to teaching in the Waterloo School District, she taught two years at Millstadt Consolidated School. Mrs. Imm is entering her 6th year coaching the junior high cheerleaders. She graduated from Waterloo High School and then continued her education at McKendree University where she majored in elementary education.
Mr. Brett Ivers- 8th Grade Math, 7th Grade Math
Mr. Ivers is starting his fourth year as a member of the Waterloo Junior High Staff. Prior to teaching in the Waterloo School District, Mr. Ivers taught for five years at Sparta Lincoln Middle School. He has made Waterloo his home since 2000. Mr. Ivers received his undergraduate degree in Finance from Western Illinois University where he also competed as a four-year varsity tennis player. Inspired by the work his wife was doing in education, Mr. Ivers returned to McKendree University to complete his Masters in Education and become a certified teacher. Mr. Ivers has a passion for instruction and learning. He has enjoyed coaching multiple sports. You can find Mr. Ivers on the tennis courts in the fall and spring as the head coach of the boys' and girls' high school tennis teams and in the winter you will see him in the gym with the 7th Grade Boys' Basketball Team. Mr. Ivers enjoys playing the sports he coaches, when he can, and spending time with his family at the Lake of the Ozarks. Mr. Ivers's wife, Dawn, is the principal at Gardner Elementary. He has two children. Jackson will be a sophomore at the high school and Rylee will be a fifth grader at Gardner.
Ms. Mary Ann Kreinberg- 8th Grade Language, 8th Grade Reading
The 2015-2016 school year will mark Mrs. Kreinberg’s 31st year of teaching junior high students, the last eight of those years have been at Waterloo Junior High School. She also chairs the English department and has directed the junior high drama productions for the last three years. Mrs. Kreinberg, a native of Quincy, Illinois, is a graduate of Illinois State University.
Mr. Andy Mayer- 8th Grade Reading
Mr. Mayer is very excited to begin his 8th year of teaching 8th grade reading. His passion is spreading the love of reading to his students and helping them to become lifelong readers. He sponsors the chess club and is co-sponsor of the very active Student Council. Mr. Mayer holds a Bachelor’s degree from Eastern Illinois University and recently completed his Master’s degree in administration. When not teaching he is kept busy by his 5-year old twin girls, Arabella and Juliana, and his one-year old daughter, Madeline.
Ms. Gina Pfund- 8th Grade Resource Teacher
Ms. Pfund has been teaching for 32 years and all of them at Waterloo Jr. High School as a resource teacher. This should tell you how much she loves this school and the students at this age level! At WJHS you will find her teaching a variety of subjects—math, language arts, reading, and study skills. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education from Southeast Missouri State University and Master’s Degree in Education from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.
Ms. Sarah Phegley- 8th Grade History
Mrs. Phegley is excited to start her eleven year of teaching and her ninth year teaching American History at WJHS. She earned her Bachelor's degree in history from Southern Illinois University of Edswardsville. Currently she is working on her master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction. In her free time away from teaching, she enjoys spending time with her husband and new baby girl, running 5Ks, traveling to new places, watching Sunday football, and scrap-booking.

Ms. Renner is entering her eleventh year of teaching at Waterloo Junior High School. She graduated from Quincy University in 2005 with a Bachelors' Degree in Special Education. She earned a Master's Degree in School Administration from Lindenwood University in 2006 and a Master's Degree in Education from Lindenwood in 2013. In addition to teaching, she is the junior high head softball coach. Besides softball, she enjoys volleyball, going to Cardinal's games, spending time with friends and family, and is a huge fan of Justin Timberlake.
